📘Competition Guidelines

1. 📌 Eligibility

  • Open to children aged 6 – 16 years
  • Each child may submit only one entry

2. 📚 Categories

Entries will be judged in three age groups:

  • Category 1: 6–9 years
  • Category 2: 10–12 years
  • Category 3: 13–16 years

3. 🎨 Theme

  • This year’s theme: Anou Twavay Ansanm – All Hands on Deck
  • Stories must be original, inspired by the theme
  • Include at least one phrase or dialogue in Dominican Kweyol

4. 📝 Submission Format

  • Submissions must be original works of fiction, written by the child
  • Length: 200 to 2000 words
  • Format: Typed, size 12, standard font (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman), double-spaced
  • Must include:
    • Title of the story
    • Child’s full name and age
    • Contact info (parent/guardian’s phone or email)

5. 🏆 Judging Criteria

Entries will be judged based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Adherence to the theme
  • Overall writing quality
  • ⚠️ Entries that do not follow the guidelines will be disqualified
